What Kodak roofs actually deal with.
Kodak's lake homes take wind off the water on the exposed slope and sun on the same side, so shingles age unevenly from one side of the house to the other. The subdivisions on open ground see wind too, and their valley-heavy rooflines need ice and water shield to stay dry through a hard spring. Tree cover is lighter here than up in the mountains, so heat and ventilation matter more than debris.
Lakefront roofs take weather from the water side. Wind crosses open water with nothing to slow it and hits the exposed slope hard, so fastening pattern and flashing matter more here than on a sheltered in-town lot. Those slopes also face the sun and the spray, which ages shingles unevenly from one side of the house to the other.
