Roofing Contractor in Knoxville, TN

From North Knox bungalows to West Knoxville new builds, we've roofed Knoxville homes and businesses since 1991: 133 completed jobs in Knoxville so far in 2026. Our shop is in Seymour, a short drive down Chapman Highway.

Knoxville and Knox County

Every kind of roof the city has, and a crew that has done each one.

Knoxville isn't one housing stock. There are 1920s bungalows in North Knox and Old Sevier with steep pitches and dormers that need careful flashing. There are brick ranches across the south and west side where a clean architectural shingle roof is exactly right. And there are the newer two-stories in Hardin Valley and Farragut with cut-up rooflines and a dozen valleys. We've been installing on all of them since 1991.

Brian King started the company working Seymour and the south Knox neighborhoods one referral at a time, and that's still how most of our Knoxville work comes to us. A neighbor's roof, a yard sign on the next street, a property manager who called us for the second building after we did the first.

For Knoxville businesses, we're a Versico Certified Installer for TPO and EPDM single-ply systems, from retail centers to churches and small industrial buildings. Same crews, same supervisor on site, same photo documentation as our residential work.

Local roofing conditions

What Knoxville roofs actually deal with.

Knoxville summers are long and humid, and that's the quiet killer of shingle roofs here. An attic without real airflow can cook the shingles from underneath and take a decade off their life. We check soffit and ridge ventilation on every estimate, because a new roof on a sealed attic won't last either.

Winter brings freeze-and-thaw cycles rather than deep snow. Water gets under a lifted shingle edge, freezes, lifts it further, and the next thaw finds its way to the decking. Ice and water shield in the valleys, where that water concentrates, is cheap insurance against exactly that.

Then there's the tree canopy, especially in the older neighborhoods north and south of the river. Leaves and seed pods pack gutters and valleys, hold moisture, and feed algae on shaded slopes. Add the occasional spring hailstorm and a few hard wind days a year, and the roofs that last are the ones installed carefully and looked at every year or two.

Why a local retail roofer

We work for you, not for a sales quota.

Brian King Roofing is a retail roofer. A homeowner or building owner calls us, we look at the roof, and we tell them the truth about it. Often the honest answer is a repair, and when it is, that's what we recommend.

If a storm did damage your roof, we'll meet your adjuster for the inspection, give you photo documentation, and answer your questions about the process. You stay in control of your claim. We don't chase storms, we don't door-knock, and we don't pressure anyone.

  • Honest inspections with photo documentation
  • Repair recommended when repair is the right answer
  • Written scope of work you can compare to any other quote
  • Same family, same shop, same phone number since 1991

Questions from Knoxville homeowners

Straight answers.

Which Knoxville neighborhoods do you cover?

All of Knoxville and the Knox County suburbs. We're in South Knoxville, Fountain City, Halls, Bearden, Sequoyah Hills, Hardin Valley, Farragut, and Powell every week, and several of those neighborhoods have their own page on this site with local details.

How fast can you get to a roof leak in Knoxville?

We respond to every request within one business day, and for an active leak we can usually be on site within 24 hours of your call. Our shop is in Seymour, a short drive down Chapman Highway. Call 865-573-6859 and tell us water is coming in so we can prioritize it.

Do you do commercial and flat roofs in Knoxville?

Yes. We're a Versico Certified Installer for TPO and EPDM single-ply systems, with tapered insulation design and manufacturer system warranties. Retail centers, churches, offices, and light industrial buildings are regular work for us.

Can you handle an older house with a steep roof and dormers?

Yes. Knoxville's 1920s and 1930s bungalows are some of our favorite work. The difference on those roofs is in the flashing: step flashing at every dormer wall, new counter-flashing at the chimney, and ice and water shield in the tight valleys. We replace flashing rather than reusing it.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We partner with GreenSky for roofing financing with fixed monthly payments, and zero-interest promotional plans are available for qualified buyers. We'll walk you through the options when we go over your estimate.

What warranties come with a new roof?

Three layers. The manufacturer's materials warranty, our own workmanship warranty (a two-year minimum on every install and lifetime on standing seam metal), and, on qualifying Owens Corning shingle systems, the Platinum Protection warranty that only Platinum Preferred contractors can register.
