Roofing Contractor in Sequoyah Hills, TN
Homes from the 1920s and '30s on curving, tree-lined streets between Cherokee Boulevard and the river. Sequoyah Hills calls for a roofer who treats every install like a restoration.
Restoration-grade roofing for Knoxville's most storied neighborhood.
Sequoyah Hills is where a roof has to do more than keep water out. The homes along Cherokee Boulevard and the streets running down to the river date to the 1920s and '30s, and they were built with slate, tile, and copper details that set the standard for everything that followed. A replacement here has to respect that.
The common requests are designer architectural shingles and slate-look systems that hold the character of the house, copper flashing and trim details where they belong, and workmanship on dormers, chimneys, and turrets that doesn't shortcut anything. We bring the patience those jobs need and a supervisor who's done them before.
We also work carefully around what makes these properties what they are: old trees, stone walls, and landscaping that took decades. Staging, protection, and cleanup get planned before the first shingle comes off.

What Sequoyah Hills roofs actually deal with.
The roof conditions in Sequoyah Hills are those of any old, well-treed Knoxville neighborhood, amplified. Deep shade keeps slopes damp and feeds moss. Complex rooflines put a lot of water through a few valleys and crickets. And the original flashing, however beautifully done, is now close to a century old. On these homes the flashing details are the job; the field of the roof is the easy part.
Older roofs fail at the details before they fail in the field. Dormer sidewalls, chimney crickets, and the tight valleys on a bungalow or Tudor carry the most water and were often flashed with materials that have long since given up. On these houses we replace step flashing and counter-flashing rather than caulking over them, and we match shingle color and profile to the street.
Sequoyah Hills summers are long and humid, and that's the quiet killer of shingle roofs in East Tennessee. An attic without real airflow cooks the shingles from underneath and takes years off their life, so we check soffit and ridge ventilation on every estimate. Winter brings freeze-and-thaw cycles rather than deep snow: water gets under a lifted shingle edge, freezes, lifts it further, and the next thaw finds the decking. Ice and water shield in the valleys, where that water concentrates, is cheap insurance against exactly that.
Tree cover does the rest. Leaves and needles pack valleys and gutters, hold moisture against the shingles, and feed algae and moss on shaded slopes. Gutter guards and a fall cleanout do more for a roof's lifespan here than most people expect, and a look at the roof every year or two catches the small problems while they're still small.

Straight answers.
Don't see your question? Call 865-573-6859 and ask.
Can you do copper flashing and slate-look roofing?
- Yes. We install designer and slate-look shingle systems and fabricate copper and custom metal flashing, caps, and trim in our own sheet metal shop in Seymour, so the details on an older home are made for that house rather than adapted from stock parts.
How do you protect mature trees and landscaping during a replacement?
- We plan it before the job starts: where the truck and dump trailer go, tarps and catch systems over beds and walls, and a route for materials that doesn't cross the lawn. A magnetic sweep of the grounds closes every day.
How fast can you get to a roof leak in Sequoyah Hills?
- We respond to every request within one business day, and for an active leak we can usually be on site within 24 hours of your call. Our shop is in Seymour and our crews work across East Tennessee every day. Call 865-573-6859 and tell us water is coming in so we can prioritize it.
A storm damaged my roof. Do you work with insurance?
- We'll inspect it honestly, document everything with photos, meet your adjuster for the inspection, and answer your questions about the process. You keep control of your claim; we don't file or manage it for you, and we don't chase storms.
Do you offer financing?
- Yes. We partner with GreenSky for roofing financing with fixed monthly payments, and zero-interest promotional plans are available for qualified buyers. We'll walk you through the options when we go over your estimate.
What warranties come with a new roof?
- Three layers. The manufacturer's materials warranty, our own workmanship warranty (a two-year minimum on every install and lifetime on standing seam metal), and, on qualifying Owens Corning shingle systems, the Platinum Protection warranty that only Platinum Preferred contractors can register.
